The year of the composition studies at the countryside has come to an end and I am so grateful for this year. (However the living on the countryside part doesn’t end just yet…)
I made a video out of one of the many things we did during the year. Some other things, I will develop shortly and many new ideas are waiting impatiently. I will also take the time to just be pleased with the knowledge, good education and inspiration this year has delivered.
So here is the video for ”SQUIRRELS”: an arrangement for wind quartet following the form theme and variations. The theme is the children’s tune ”ekorrn satt i granen” (the squirrel sat in the pine tree) by the fabulous Swedish composer Alice Tegnér. Four variations follows.
My amazing friend and artist Johanna Rehn illustrated the five different squirrels in this arrangement. They are so cute and full of life!
It was an amazing opportunity to have had the arrangement recorded in a really good studio in Malmö with great musicians from Malmö opera. Big difference from Dorico (my music-editing program) I’d say!
Now I will enjoy the summer at the countryside!!
Watch it at youtube with your children or all by yourself and enjoy.
